Sad Failure Event #2

Once again I would like to thank Mark Ferguson of Ferg's Sports bar in St. Petersburg FL for hosting the 2nd Sad Failure Event. It was quite a success especially as so many Red Sox fans travelled to Tropicana Field this past Saturday to watch the Devil Rays play the Red Sox. The game was on outstanding show of what a team can do when their heart is deep into it. After 12 innings though, the Red Sox finally wore down the Devil Rays and won 12-6. I have to applaud the Devil Rays for putting up a great battle. Just think what would happen if teams like the Devil Rays stepped up to play every game like they do against the Yankees or the Sox. They have the ability to be contenders. Great Job Rays!!!

Barry Bonds and FOX TV

What is it with Barry Bonds? I am sitting in a my local pub Saturday watching the Red Sox play the White Sox: a great series that day and every time Barry gets up FOX has to switch to Barry's full at bat. Give me a break!! Does any Sox fan (white or red) care about what Barry is doing. They, FOX TV, stole important at-bats for us fans just to show this juiced up player. It is not not they were selling any more commercials. Just show the sad highlight of him hitting another useless Homerun please. ESPN and FOX, listen to me, WE DO NOT CARE. Can I say it again... WE DO NOT CARE.

Sad Failure Event

I would like to thank Mark Ferguson and his whole staff at Ferg's sports bar, for the warm reception they gave for our 1st 21st Century Baseball.com "Sad Failure Event" this past weekend when the Tampa bay Devil Rays played the Yankees. I was fortunate to have a ticket for the Friday game to see Roger Clemens get beat by the Rays. It only added to the fun when so many Yankee Fans in the stadium were telling me to shut-up because I was rooting for the Rays. Gee whose ball park was this. Over all, the fans, even the Yankee fans, were great. Many asked questions about the Sad Failure shirts because they did not quite get it, but that is understandable when your team normally does not sit 10 back going into the second half. We al planning a second Sad Failure event back at Ferg's when the Red Sox come to town. I hope my fellow Sox fans and the red sox nation can appreciate the humor in the shirt.

Homerun Derby

So I am watching the Home Run derby tonight and I have to say, I hate how ESPN plays up to Barry Bonds. It was bad enough that they spent too much time discussing his possible HR record, but they had to continue while Maglio Ordoniz was up at bat and it took away from the fan’s watching the show. I only can hope that the NL teams can see it clear enough to walk him every time at bat. Never let him break Hanks record. And now they have to discuss things with A-Rod. Give me a break, let the full screen video play and just leave the sound of the interview play. This is as bad ESPN showing the announcers in the middle of a good game. I could care less about the announcers on screen; what do they want baseball mortality? Stop the madness.
