WOW

Here I sit unlike I did in 2004, as then I was sitting in a lobby bar in Chicago's O'Hare airport. some of you may recall I was the guy with the red Red Sox shirt, hat, mit and ball ... drinking scotch and buying champagne for the bar. Tonight is different, I sit here at home quiet and relaxed. My team has won another ring and the Yankees are still looking for a manager and A-Rod is leaving them. I could not be happier. Quiet, comfortable, never to hear that we will never win another ring for 86 years. Never to hear that we will blow it. I am just happy, plain old content and happy. I raise my glass to the Rokies and their fans. What a great run, and what a class act. Next year may be your year. But remember, what ever it is you do in life.. never ever quit or give up. It may be tough you may get knocked down, but your day will come . Stand tall and believe.

Holy Cow - The Sox do it again!!

What another amazing post season comeback for the Boston Red Sox. This could easily sum up to be the decade for the red Sox and the Red Sox Nation. The team that never gives up, ever ever has shown the baseball world how to win in pot season. Manny can be Manny all he wants and how bout young Dustin, the beloved 2nd baseman cracks a soaring 2 run shot to open up the breathing valves for the Sox nation. With the ALCS behind us , we have the World series to deal with now. Veterans and rookies slugging it out. This has been a great year for baseball and I like so many will be in withdrawal at the end of October. Stay tuned, Red Sox - Rockies....Old versus New.... Young versus Seasoned...

The Snake has No Venom

Well so much for the Diamondbacks, a young blood snake but the bite seems to have no venom. The Rockies have proven to me they are the better team and it seems the snake is no match for the mountain. Last nights performance was better than Thursday but the outcome was the same, Rockies win Diamondbacks loose. So now we go from the desert to the mountain peak and with 3 games in Colorado one could say the Rockies have home field advantage now. Speaking of home field advantage, how about the Red Sox. I never imagined that the outcome of last nights game would have been so lopsided. But that is the tale of the Red Sox this year. I now feel Cleveland is doomed. I know it is only one game but the performance in that one game was so bad that the Sox made the Indians look like Little Leaguers. The best part was Papi and Manny reach base each time they got to the plate for a total of 10 times - 5 each. That has to be scary, and I hope the Rockies are taking notes. So we shall see how it goes tonight, with the Seasoned post season pitcher against the newbie.

The Table is Set

Well the Yankees have done what hey seem to do best these past 7 years - Lose. Now that the Indians have moved to the ALCS we have the stage set for some real exciting Baseball on the field and off. The match up between Sabathia and Beckett on Friday will be a game that may determine right there which team has the bats to go all the way. All we all want to hear the ranting of Mr. (I am a loser) Steinbrenner, who will probably fire Joe Torre along with others. Personally, I think Cashman should be fired for wasting 18 Million dollars of Georges money on an geriatric pitcher when they could have gotten a deeper bull pen. With that said we look forward to a great end of the season with four great teams to watch this coming week. The Rockies have a mountain to climb but being from 5000 ft up they may well achieve what they have deserve, but that mountain is plagued with rattlers and the Diamond backs will be at their heals all along the climb. So good luck to all the fans out there and continue to live for this, America's Sport....

Rockies Arizona will fight for the NL penant

What an amazing performance for the Rockies, taking down the Phillies 3 straight. A nice young team without a mega-salaries. They are going to the NLDS for the first time in franchise history to meat the Arizona Diamondbacks who also swept the Cubbies. Those poor Cub fans will have to wait till 2008 for another shot. 100 years since the last world series. Maybe, just maybe, they will find a way to get A-Rod from the losing Yankees and he can help them get to the 2008 world series. Of course tonight will tell a lot, especially with A-Rod if he continues to disappoint Yankee Fans with a sub par miserable post season performance. And last but not least, will Curt Chilling be able to be the post season star he is and help the Red Sox sweep the California Angels. Only time will tell. Maybe we will have four 3-game sweeps in the division series.

2 down 1 to go

I guess that is the sound of fans in Arizona, Cleavland, Colorado, and Boston. It is amazing to see that all Division Series are at 2-0. So how about them Yankees last night? Were they Bugged out or what? I am afraid if they lose the division series all we will hear for the rest of the year is, oh if the bugs did not come out we would have won. I guess we will have to wait and see. And how about Manny, you have to love Manny. What shot that was, right out to Lansdowne Street. that is what A-Rod should be doing for the Yankees, but he is doing what he always does, choke in post season.

I am still hoping for the Cubbies to do something but it looks as dismal as the Yankees. Better polish the clubs and hit the greens cause 2007 is winding down. I am hoping for some new Sad Failure quotes from Mr. Steinbrenner and his failed crew.

Yankee Fans Put Red Sox Fan in Hospital

This is just in. I was talking to my Dad in NY. Yes I grew up there. He pointed me to this article. I can see that Yankee fans are desperate to quite the Red Sox fans now. hey guys, take it out on the diamond not in the bars. Just go to show who is a better.

Red Sox fan assaulted in New York
By John C. Drake, Globe Staff

A 25-year-old carpenter from Quincy is in serious condition after he was assaulted outside a Yonkers, N.Y. hotel last night by a group of men he said had earlier asked about his allegiance to the Red Sox.Two men were arrested in the assault, authorities said.Carlos Ortez was watching the Red Sox-Angels playoff game in the lounge of a Ramada Inn with other workers for Holden-based Woodmeister Master Builders, who were in town working on a construction project at a Manhattan hotel.Ortez was sitting at the bar with co-worker Walter Ostromecki, 30, of North Brookfield, who was wearing a Red Sox hat and T-shirt, when another patron at the end of the bar asked the two men whether they had pride in Boston, said Lieutenant Philip Collins of the Yonkers Police.Immediately after the 4-0 Red Sox win, the two men left the hotel, when they were approached from behind by the man who'd made the earlier comment, along with two other men.Ortez and Ostromecki walked in opposite directions, but then Ostromecki looked back and saw Ortez was being attacked. As Ostromecki approached them, the assailants ran toward a parking lot.Ortez was lying in a pool of blood and his face was swollen. He's in intensive care with multiple facial fractures at Westchester Medical Center, said Chris Komenda, of Woodmeister Master Builders.Duane Somers, 32, of Huntingdon, Pa., and Edward McConaughey, 42, of Orbisonia, Pa., were arrested and charged with second-degree felony assault, said Lucian Chalfen, a spokesman for the Westchester District Attorney's office. They were arraigned this morning, and their bail was set at $10,000 apiece, Chalfen said. He could not say whether they had made bail. A Westchester County Jail employee said the men were not listed as inmates. They are set to appear in court again Wednesday, Chalfen said.Komenda said two executives from the firm are at the hospital with Ortez, and that the other four employees have been moved to a different hotel.Authorities said Somers and McConaughey also were carpenters in town for a construction job.

Post Season Youth and Inexperience

Well other than the Red Sox, this pots season is turning out to be quite the story of youthful and inexperienced post season triumphs. Who would have expected the Rockies to swep the Phillie, and that is what it is looking like right now. Or how about the Diamond Backs, After a miserable 111 loss year 2 years ago they are about to sweep the Cubbies. That is a shame because the Cubs need to break that "goat" curse. Then there is the continued implosion of NY, they thought they could get to the ALCS and after last nights performance, they better start looking for tee times and not game times. Cleavland is looking mighty fine and the Yanks looked weary and dazed. Of course with all that said there is still the Sox and Angels. I guess we need to see if young Dice-K has it in him to shine in the post season. So tonight will be an telling night. Do the Sox go up 2-0? do the Yanks fall to 0-2? Will there be another Sad Failure? These questions and many more will be told in time as the weekend draws near.

Finally Post Season

Well here we are, the tables are set and the games are about to be played. i would be remiss if I did not say that I am very pleased that the Red Sox won the division of the damn Yankees, but with that said we have more to accomplish. Look at the setting, the cubs, the rockies wow!!! The Yankees in the Wild card - what a surprise. The Indians now that would be a good world series, Indians and Cubs. Good for baseball in the mid west. this has been a very exciting baseball season and I hope we see a real exciting post season set of games. Too bad it is broad casted on TBS for those that do not have cable, like my 81 year old father.....
